Life Drawing

One of the images which I produced from the day of life drawing. Looking back at this piece, I would like to improve on the anatomy and pay more attention to the detail in the face. Although, I am quite please with how the shading on the left leg has turned out.

Visual Communication

These are a few of the pieces I produced for the vis com pathway. I apologise about the picture quality, because of the size of this work, I had to take a photo of them.

Smoke

Photographs of smoke created from burning incense. This series of photographs was created in response to ‘traces’ for the fine art pathway.

Twinings Advertisments

The first video in this post inspired our group to use the leaves as a form of animation and the second video I just find very poetic.

ITFS Zoopraxiscope

After researching Edweard Muybridge’s zoopraxiscope for the MIP pathway, I came across this video. I love the fluidity of it and how the animals transform effortlessly into another. This most certainly inspired the outcome for the ‘Storm in a Teacup’ video shown in a previous post.

Achille Castiglioni

Italian born Achille Castiglioni is a world renowned 3D designer. His designs are simplistic, intelligent and bold. It appears that Casiglioni isn’t a fan of useless detail and it is obviously reflected in his work which has been designed down to the simplest elements possible needed for the piece of furniture to work brilliantly.

Nancy Grossman

Nancy Grossman seems to have a rather dark view on fashion and sculpture. I find her head sculptures both sinister and fascinating with the amount of elements, the use of weapons and objects (which I could imagine being used for torture or featured in horror movies) as well as the sheer amount of detail.
